Workshops are an attempt to escape from stereotypical thinking about a movie poster. Playing with props, deconstruction and re-construction, cutting and bending are just some of the used tactics. Strict manual techniques and resignation from the computer forced a change in the logic of image creation.
The posters were created during workshops organized for the second year of Graphics and Art and Media as part of the graphic design course. The starting point were black and white abstract posters designed by students on computers. During the workshop, the students exchanged printed posters, which were then used as a starting point to manual transformations, according to instructions given by the leaders.
The inspiration for the workshop was the publication "They shoot typo, do not they", which documents similar workshops taking place at the Sint-Lucas Gent School in Belgium. All this in the spirit of modern mashup.
