Barbara Janczak
I am an artist and designer living and working in Krakow. In my artistic practice I use design strategies and tools. The subject of my works comes partially from my experience in commercial work - the human condition in a world driven by consumption vs. strategies for striving for internal balance and a sense of meaning. I am interested in the problems of everyday visual language, dictated by an expansive, consumerist existence, and it’s inability to describe subtle, yet universal, internal experiences.
Since 2016 I'm also a design educator, connected to UKEN University of Cracow and MIADA departament of Chongqing Business and Technology University in China. Before I worked at Lavernia & Cienfuegos Studio in Valencia and Cloustudio (now Pleo Design) in Kraków.
In XI 2011 I graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, graphic department. In 2010 I studied at Escola d´Art i Superior de Disseny de Valencia, Facultad de Diseño Gráfico due to the Erasmus program. I participated in many exhibitions and art projects taking place in Poland, Italy, Turkey and China. I was a co-founder of PRASSA art and science group. I was also one of founders of KIOOSK, the first Independent Publishig Fair in Cracow.
